Godly Memories

Reaching Your World with Luis Palau show

Summary: If you’re older, like I am, many of the memories you have are filled with people who are no longer with us on this earth. But those memories are cherished. Some people have memories of their grandma teaching them how to bake, or their grandpa mowing the lawn. Maybe they remember a next-door neighbor who always had lemonade, or a great uncle who told awesome stories. None of those memories would exist without quality time spent together. One of the best ways to share God’s love with our grandkids or younger folks is to just invite them into our homes and lives. We can cook them a meal or take them grocery shopping. Show them old pictures. Have them over for a sleepover on a Saturday and take them to church the next morning. As Deuteronomy says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. You shall teach [these laws] diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:5) Our grandkids should see that Christ is at the center of our lives and our homes. We need to start building memories that the younger generation will keep forever, and make the love of God part of those memories. They will remember, and pass on the love of God to their kids, grandkids, and young friends. This is Luis Palau.
