Summary: INDIVISIBLE CHICAGO PODCAST SHOW NOTES FOR APRIL 12, 2021 The most pressing issue we are facing the country at this moment is defending our freedom to vote. Forty-three states across the country have introduced legislation intended to strip that freedom from Black and brown voters. And Republicans in Georgia have gone so far as to make it illegal to hand out water to people in line to vote. On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, Tom Moss and Marj Halperin co-hosted the Indivisible Chicago Alliance educational panel: Demand Democracy: Fighting for the Freedom to Vote -- a discussion about S1, the For the People Act, a sweeping pro-democracy bill that will ensure that ALL Americans are free to vote. Guest included: Dan Weiner is deputy director of the Brennan Center’s Election Reform Program, where he helps to lead the Center’s work on money in politics, election security, government ethics, and other democracy and rule of law issues.
