After trying unsuccessfully to work with local government to bring a makerspace to his community, Mike Heidrick decided to build his own makerspace. Aptly named the Mikeyspace, Mike built a 40’X64’X16’ polebarn with a 10’X24’ porch - two 14’X14’ overhead doors, 3 pedestrian doors, and 4 36”X48” double hung windows, and 5" thick concrete floor with radiant heat. The project has taken nearly 3 years to complete but features a full CNC machine shop, CNC woodworking shop, welding equipment and a drive in theater.
