As he grew older the vision in his remaining eye continued to decline. But George was determined to keep up with other kids, pulling his weight around the house and at school. One of 6 kids, he adored his mother who gave him an early foundation of faith. He tiptoed around his father; whose alcoholism made home life uneasy. Despite a school counselor suggesting college was out of the question, George was accepted to college and, with the help of his mom, earned a degree in education. He got married to a college sweetheart and started a family. But when he came to know Jesus through a local church, he felt called to ministry. This started a new chapter and eventually George found his current calling: ministry for the blind.
