Money, Study Put New Spin on Texas Rail Plan

Summary: Every little bit helps, and in this case, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Texas $15 million this week to begin preliminary engineering and environmental studies for developing a proposed high-speed rail line between Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. The concept rail line would connect two of the nation's biggest metropolitan areas with trains reaching speeds in excess of 150 mph. The process itself, however, won't be quite as fast.
