One is 'specialisation': committing to a field early, getting a head start on your peers, rigorous deliberate practice, refining a narrow focus on specific skills. But the other approach is 'generalisation'. This means going wide not deep, going through an early 'sampling period' where you test a lot of different potential paths forward.
