His parents were loving, but his father lost his battle to depression and took his life when Jeff was very young. When his mother remarried one of Jeffs high school friends, Jeff numbed his pain and shame through alcohol and drugs. He fell into a dangerous cycle of addiction and partying until one day he told his boss he needed help. Though he didnt respond to rehab right away, eventually Jeff became clean and started a family. He experimented with different religions and listening to new age, self-help tapes. One day God spoke to him through an audio book on the New Testament and Jeff gave his life to Jesus.
