Summary: A foundational concept of mindfulness is recognizing that you...your true self, your soul...are separate from your thoughts.  That the things you think about are not you.   That, in fact, you are the observer of your thoughts.   Which is incredibly powerful.   Because knowing that allows you to choose to give energy to the thoughts that serve you well.  Thoughts that bring you joy and help you create a life you love.
