Why do you get one?</p><br><p><strong>NEW DATE: </strong>Beginning<strong> May 3, 2023, </strong>every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States. <a href="https://www.tsa.gov/real-id" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.tsa.gov/real-id</a></p><br><p>The REAL ID Act establishes minimum security standards for license issuance and production and prohibits Federal agencies from accepting for certain purposes driver’s licenses and identification cards from states not meeting the Act’s minimum standards.
