As a lecturer in the therapeutic use of essential oils, Penny has travelled throughout Europe, the Far East and South America. Penny has written 2 books and co-written 2 more. She has contributed substantially to peer-reviewed journals as well as populist articles for magazines, alongside writing and contributing to the academic texts on the medical use of aromatherapy and essential oils.  After 37 years of studying the chemistry and pharmacology of essential oils, Penny is regarded as a world expert.
