Discipline & Productivity: What Should I Stop Doing & What Should I Begin To Implement?

Jordan Peterson Archive show

Summary:
Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Jordan Peterson Archive. I hope you’re all having a good day so far. Todays topic is the elusive art of self-discipline & productivity. Whether you’re a student, working a 9-5 Job or a business-person, I think we can all agree that these two topics apply to us all.

A concept I heard and struggled to comprehend at first was Discipline = Freedom. I finally began to understand this when I figured out a scheduling technique that worked for me. We must negotiate the best possible terms for us to maximise our productivity and this is easily done when we first know what we are meant to be doing at any given time. Some people despise diaries and schedules but it doesn’t have to be this way - Set up the day you want to have, in the most practical way, by eliminating less important tasks and prioritising more important ones. I did this just this morning, by removing all but one thing from my diary: To create podcast episodes for this podcast, and It’s turned out great so far!

For more in depth techniques and ideas, I’ll leave it to Jordan to explore in this episode - Productivity & Discipline.

FAIR-USE COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER * Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, commenting, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
