Summary: THOUSANDS of protestors are taking part in a march in Madrid to demand the government take action to curb the depopulation of rural areas. The Revolt of the Emptied Spain demonstration was organised by 85 grassroots groups to highlight the fact 90 per cent of the population is now concentrated in 30 per of the country, in particular Madrid and the coastal areas. WATER reserves are being closely monitored by the Spanish government as a lack of rainfall threatens to take its toll on crops. Authorities are keeping a close eye on rain levels amid fears the lack of water could impact on the agricultural productions.However the water reservoirs are currently at 58 per cent of their total capacity and there is still a commitment to implementing “sustainable and balanced” irrigation modernisation policies. Spain’s National Security Council has warned that xenophobia is on the rise in Spain. In a report, approved on March 15, the council found that while “Spaniards’ attitude on immigration continues to be more welcoming” than the European average.............. Pope Francis said on Sunday that political leaders who want walls and other barriers to keep migrants out "will end up becoming prisoners of the walls they build". The pope made his comments to reporters aboard the plane returning from Morocco in response to a question about migration in general and about U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to shut down the southern border with Mexico........ Members of the Conservative Eurosceptic ERG group have openly admitted they are plotting to throw Mrs May out of No 10 because she has asked Mr Corbyn to help rescue her EU divorce.
