S03E06 - Ultrachip Special 2011

The Geek Show show

Summary: This Week’s show features Live music from Critical-Strike, discussions, a review of Ultrachip, Geek News, lots of really cool music and interviews: Ultrachip is the UK’s largest Chiptune and 8-Bit Music Festival. It consists of two days of live music, a Chiptunes market place selling all the necessities for chip music creation, merchandise from the acts, and an afternoon of workshops on creating Chiptunes and Visual Arts. Ultrachip organiser Comptroller (Mike Cox), talks to us about his experiences running the UK’s largest Chiptune Event. Sycamore Drive (Garry Lee), discusses his music, his influences and Ultrachip. Stevens (Gus Lobban), gives us the lowdown on his live performance and taking off his clothes in public. HarleylikesMusic (Harley Raine), talks about his tour that passed through Ultrachip and making music on a Nintendo DS. Jellica (Jake Manley), brings us up to speed about his ‘net label Kitten Rock, releasing Stevens music on it, and taking his clothes off whilst headlining last years Ultrachip (we sense a tradition in the making). Edward Shallow (kindly interviewed for us by Garry Lee at 4am in the morning), discusses his live act, and why he winds people up during it. www.thegeekshow.co.uk
