Summary: The Angels provided an update on Shohei Ohtani's progress from his Grade 2 UCL sprain, stating they were "optimistic" about his recovery to this point. Mike Scioscia did still state that Ohtani would be reevaluated in 2-3 weeks, leaving his pitching future still up in the air as far as this season is concerned. Scioscia did at least mention that Ohtani swinging a bat does not effect his sprained elbow ligament, which bodes well for his placement in the lineup later this season, even if he does not pitch.
