Pornography-Dallin H. Oaks

LDS HIGHLIGHTS show

Summary: In this amazing talk about the dangers of pornography, Dallen H. Oaks concurs with a letter he received from a man who was addicted to hard drugs and pornography, stating that addiction to pornography is far harder to overcome than addiction to hard drugs. The most powerful quote from this letter is: "In my eyes cocaine doesn't hold a candle to this. I have done both. . . . Quitting even the hardest drugs was nothing compared to [trying to quit pornography]" So, let this be a lesson to everyone, male or female, that according to a current Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ; trying to overcome addiction to cocaine or heroine, etc, is far easier and nothing compared to overcoming addiction to pornography. Now that's pretty powerful. I guess if you had to choose between which addiction to be more concerned about, it would have to be the pornography, according to Dallin H. Oaks. It's hard to believe that people are better off addicted to cocaine or hard drugs, than Playboy, but an Apostle said it in General Conference, so therefore it is and it must be so. Some great advice from a great man of God. This talk was given in the April 2005 General Conference
