Athlete Profile: Rachel Bower, National Champion & Boxing Coach

Summary: Rachel Bower is a former National Champion and England representative. After ten years of competing she turned her hand to coaching and has quickly worked her way up to become and England Support Coach while still volunteering with Earlsfield Amateur Boxing Club and the Metropolitan Police Boxing Team.  Rachel’s fighting highlights are winning the National Championships at the Echo Arena in Liverpool with the only stoppage of the finals. It was also the first year men and women boxed on the same stage. Her coaching highlights are being selected to train a celebrity for BBC’s Sport Relief and coaching my boyfriend, an Amateur super heavyweight. Rachel teaches and does one on one coaching at 12 Rounds Boxing http://12roundsboxing.co.uk/.  She mobilises the Met Police boxing team/coaches to deliver ‘Get Started with Boxing’ with The Princes Trust where we use the sport to teach hard to reach young people valuable life skills https://www.princes-trust.org.uk/help-for-young-people/unlock-your-potential/discover-new-talents.
