Summary: This is a re-edited, re-mastering of our 2008 biographical tribute to the life and music of Freddie Mercury of the musical group Queen. The story is augmented and populated with mods, mashups, remixes, covers, deconstructions, effects, etc. of Queen's music. More of a linear narrative in its structure than usual NCN programs, but still told somewhat out of sequence, this program examines Mercury's life from his childhood in Zanzibar, to the start of his career as an iconic rock star in the U.S., to his tragic death from AIDS in late 1991. This is a very heartfelt celebration of a man whom we never met but greatly admire and love, as did countless others all over the world. His music shall live on. This program was webcast, in this re-mastered form, on Plundercast and DFM on 11/25/2012. Disclaimer: All derived material in this program is used fairly, accredited, and transformed (remixed / fragmented / re-contextualized / re-worked) for the purpose of education, cultural reference, and to artistically capture the cultural conversation about the subject matter during the time of this program's creation. This researched program is the result of an artistic and creative process which can be documented, and is meant to be heard, and taken in its entirety.
