Microsoft Steps Up Its Game With Five Studio Acquisitions The Xbox One era hasn't been kind to Microsoft. Along with a flubbed launch, Microsoft has been without the support of a vaunted exclusive lineup unlike Sony and Nintendo. So, it's encouraging to hear Phil Spencer announce five studio acquisitions. Geek Off: What games from the past would you want to see given the revival treatment? OMG A New Battletoads is Coming in 2019! Nothing was actually shown on the game, just a hype video was played but what was revealed has all the Battletoads fans salivating! What we do know is it will have three player action, 4k hand-drawn 2.5D graphics and it's an Xbox One exclusive. Chris' Best of Show Nintendo - super smash bros was huge and myself and many fans went nuts over the reveal and showing that every player is available. If it’s ever been in smash it’s playable. Add in a new MARIO Party and it’s another nostalgia blast that I can’t wait for. Plus Mario party leverages the ability to network switches and put multiple people on consoles. Finally the announce fortnite and in less than 2 days have 2 million downloads. Nintendo shared a lot of Pokémon let’s go prior to the show so maybe that influences me some here. But despite no mention of Metroid I was excited by almost everything Nintendo showed off. Jason's Best of Show Even though it received a lot of negativity I think Best of Show has to be Square Enix with hit after hit of reveals including: Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy XIV X Monster Hunter World, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Babylon's Fall, Just Cause 4, The Quiet Man and Kingdom Hearts 3. Every title looks amazing and makes me wish I had every console so I could play them all! Adam's Best of Show Bethesda Dave's Best of Show With Sony going all in on Spider-man and Last of Us 2, plus Death Stranding featuring Norman Reedus, I give the nod to Sony. But the emphasis placed on No Lootboxes from many companies was a close runner up. Weekly Garnish: Fallout Shelter (iOS,Android,PC,Xbox One,PS4) Fallout Shelter is a mobile, console and PC base building game, in which the player builds their own Vault and takes the role of Overseer. In the game you expand your Vault and try to keep the citizens who dwell within happy. Think of it as a "SimCity In The Ground" and you will know exactly what you are in for! Plus ... it's free-to-play! It was formed by two IT guys who, one day in 2017, decided to start a band together. They had both been playing music in different shapes and forms for 20+ years. Daniel handles the bass and sings/screams in the microphone. Per is the guitar hero and studio genius. The name started as a joke when they needed a name for the first gig. The ransomware WannaCry was in it’s prime and the name stuck, so they kept it. Wannacries are influenced by classic rock acts such as Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath as well as modern bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour. Their trademarks are fast and catchy songs with a sharp, modern guitar sound. Since the release of their debut EP the songs have been played on a number of internet radio stations and Spotify playlists. They released their first EP Deadline King in January 2018. It has two original songs and two covers given the Wannacries treatment. Facebook / Instagram / Twitter / ReverbNation / Spotify / YouTube / Musicoin / iTunes
