With shifting demographics (i.e. less Mormon ones), are the days of the Church Administration Building driving policy behind us?<br> <br> Do we truly preach of Christ? The destruction in these areas is staggering. For the uninitiated, the Book of Abraham was translated from a set of papyri obtained by Joseph Smith. Linguists have argued that the scrolls are just funerary documents, which has led many to question the authenticity of Joseph's prophetic abilities. But Joseph also received inspiration for the Book of Mormon by looking at a stone in a hat, so who's to say he couldn't receive inspiration for the Book of Abraham by staring at some papyri?<br> <br> This American Life <a href="https://www.thisamericanlife.org/661/but-thats-what-happened?fbclid=IwAR3e7PT5jcSMDfB9gGD3i8XO1WsVLxhZ2Sh9pPWM_GduDbbJb2IRsANfu7Y" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ran a segment</a> about awkward or inappropriate bishop's interviews, a recurring theme of late in the wake of Sam Young's excommunication for his unrelenting pressure for the Church to cease such practices. It's a hard and sometimes graphic listen, but worth your time.
