Summary: New Jersey Devils legend Patrik Elias will have his #26 jersey retired in a ceremony that which will occur Saturday February 24th. In honor of this event, this podcast is an interview that took place last year when he announced his retirement. It is an in-depth, intimate conversation about his legacy, the memories, and how he wants to be remembered. His will be the fifth jersey to hang from the Prudential Centers rafters joining #4 Scott Stevens, #3 Ken Daneyko, #27 Scott Niedermayer and #30 Martin Brodeur. Drafted by the Devils in the second round with the 51st overall selection in the 1994 NHL Draft, Elias played all 18 full seasons of his NHL career in New Jersey, leading the team to two Stanley Cup Championships, in 2000 and 2003. Elias is the regular-season franchise leader in goals (408), assists (617) and points (1,025), and ranks third in games played with 1,240. He is also the clubs all-time playoff leader with 45 goals, 80 assists and 125 points, 21 power-play goals and six game-winning goals.
