Summary: On today’s episode of 1 on 1 with Kristian Harloff, Perri Nemiroff sits in the host’s seat to interview Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first Twilight movie starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Catherine and Perri discuss the 10 year anniversary of the film and revisit her experiences in making the film. They also go in depth about the legacy of the movie and how it affected her career. Hardwicke has directed such well received movies as Thirteen with Evan Rachel Wood and Holly Hunter and the Lords of Dogtown starring a young Heath Ledger and Emile Hirsch. She’s also directed numerous episodes of TV for such notable shows as Hell on Wheels, Low Winter Sun, and Eyewitness. Hardwicke is here to promote her latest film Miss Bala which is a remake of a 2011 film of the same name that was written and directed by Gerardo Naranjo. Hardwicke’s version stars stars Gina Rodriguez and Anthony Mackie. Gina plays Gloria who finds a power she never knew she had when she is drawn into a dangerous world of cross-border crime with the Mexican cartels. Surviving will require all of her cunning, inventiveness, and strength. Hardwicke is a fantastic director with a varied and interesting resume of projects. This is an illuminating, enjoyable and in depth conversation with one of the best directors working in the business today.
