Ep 6: Liv Lin in the shoe, from Cantonese to Spanish, English and Mandarin Chinese

Changing Scripts: Conversations about Mandarin Chinese with native speakers and learners show

Summary: Changing Scripts Podcast website & Changing Scripts YouTube Channel  Liv is in an interesting language experience right now. She grew in New York City using Cantonese with her Southern Chinese mother and some Mandarin Chinese with her Taiwanese father. She then picked up Spanish and English in her diverse NYC environment. She has traveled extensively and has learned a few more languages along the way. But it is now, while living and working in Shanghai, China, that she is faced with a myriad of language AND cultural obstacles that she feels the most challenged by. Liv started an intensive Mandarin Chinese summer course the day after this interview in order to face these challenges head on. We have the pleasure of talking to her before and after this course. The after conversation will be in the Fall season.  Liv's website: http://www.thatlivlife.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This podcast is a sister project to the Changing Scripts YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClzR7HySZTVb6g-tSzAhi5A Music Info: Galaxies by Split Phase is licensed under a Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Split_Phase/Compendium/split_phase-38-galaxies
