[49] The Attributes, simplicity and aseity of God

What Does the Word Say? show

Summary: Systematic theology is often divided into six loci: Theology proper, Anthropology, Christology, Soteriology, Ecclesiology and Eschatology. In theology proper we speak about the communicable and incommunicable attributes of God. The simplicity of God means that his attributes are not separable. Aseity, the property of being self-existent, is one of God’s incommunicable attributes. The name by which he revealed himself to Moses, I Am, points to his aseity.
