Daily Battle #13: Leaders Don’t Let things burn

The Daily Battle show

Summary: Recently there has been some turmoil happening in my extended family and there have been a few times I have felt compelled to take a stand for what is right, to be the calming force, to roar when it needed it, to stand at the head of the table. At the end of the day its my responsibility to lead my family away from the fire and not let things burn. I would be out of integrity of who “I am” to stand by and allow it to happen.

The distinction that I am grateful to be given in the recent past is I am leader not a savior.

How does this relate to running a business?

When you run a small business your team is like a small family, your micro movement you are leading, those people are believing in you and following you.

And you’ll have instances where the interpersonal interactions, ie conflict, the good times, the bonds will feel like family but its your job as the leader to maintain the culture or even fix the culture.
