I’m back from Miami, where I went to speak in front of an audience of about 90 women at <a href="http://www.chabadfl.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chabad of Aventura Florida</a>. This was a joint effort among several synagogues in the Aventura area in what they’ve called Project Connect – a project of connection and inspiration for Jewish women which will take place over the course of four months. I was this month’s speaker and the opening speaker for Project Connect.<br> I was fortunate enough that Chava Mann, one of the guests and coordinators of this beautiful event was able to record me speaking and so I can share with you what I shared with the ladies in Miami. The title of my talk was Going Beyond: Living a Joyful, Richer, Jewish Life<br> I have to tell you this event was of particular importance to me. First of all, because the lady who arranged for me to come down there, or who made the referral, and who initially conceived of the idea of Project Connect is my dear friend <a href="http://skylakechabad.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hindy Rosenberg</a>. Not only is she my friend, but I became observant with her and her family. Yes, in her home. Many many years back in my early twenties. I’ve learned so much from her and since then, she’s been by my side as a source of constant support and inspiration.<br> Second, Miami is now home to many friends from my early youth, people I know since college, my early twenties – friends who know me from way back when. In fact, this is why speaking in front of this audience made it even more nervewrecking than usual. And I have to say in the end I loved every minute of it. I can’t tell you how special it was to get together again with so many friends as well as to meet new ones.<br> But, listen, if I’m going to talk about something I have to live it and breathe it myself, right?
