According to Deadline, during Fox’s town hall meeting for employees, 21st Century Fox president Peter Rice said that they expect the deal to officially be finalized by the end of summer in 2019. There’s a chance it could be approved even faster, by spring of 2019. Not only was is just confirmed that IT: Chapter 2 is going into production this summer, but we also got our second bit of major casting news! First it was that Jessica Chastain was in talks to play Bev in the movie and now we’ve got THR reporting that not only is she locked, but that James McAvoy and Bill Hader are both currently in negotiations to join the cast as well - McAvoy as an older Bill Denbrough and Hader as the adult Richie Tozier. IT: Chapter 2 is scheduled for a September 6, 2019 release. We just learned that Donnie Yen scored a role in the upcoming live-action Mulan movie over at Disney, but that’s not the only person the studio recruited. According to THR, Jet Li and Gong Li are on board as well. And apparently, Gong Li is playing the villain - a powerful witch. So for those of you who are fans of the 1998 animated film, that’s clearly a big change. Mulan is due in theaters on March 27th, 2020. We already knew Shane Black’s The Predator movie underwent reshoots but now we’ve got an update on what those reshoots entailed and it seems they were more extensive than predicted. Cast member Keegan-Michael Key told Cinemablend that 3/4 of the third act was rewritten. We are expecting to see a trailer soon because the movie is scheduled for release on September 14th. We’ve got THR reporting that John Krasinski’s next movie will be a sci-fi thriller called Life on Mars. The movie is based on a short story by Cecil Castellucci that covers what happens when a woman who is one of the few descendants of a human colony on Mars that was abandoned by Earth learns that she can actually breathe the Martian atmosphere, a discovery that actually unlocks the mystery of the disaster that stranded her and her team on the planet in the first place.
