In Elliot’s case, at least as far as he sees it, he’s burdened with having to try to undo a hack so effective that it brought down the world economy. He even goes so far as to take a job at E-Corp. Almost in tandem with the hack that Elliot made happen — the 5/9 hack — we have a scenario where China and the United States are lockstep in a battle of sorts over what will now become the dominant currency.
