Scouting Stuff You Should Know show

Summary: How has your exposure to Scouts from other countries influenced your worldview? ----more---- Subscribe: iTunes | Google Play | Android | TuneIn Radio | Stitcher Podcast Topics Before we dive into the meat of the topic, Ken and Colin take a quick look at the state of the podcast, and note that Scouting Stuff has been running for two years now! That's right; our first episode was published on October 8, 2015, or just over two years ago. And here we are now, nearing our fiftieth episode, and doing very well indeed; at least on the Canadian iTunes charts, Scouting Stuff got as high as #66 on the top 100 Government & Organizations podcasts last week. Also, Scouter Ken is indeed headed to Cork, Ireland, and will be there between the 16th and 25th of October. If you'd like to get in touch — whether to hang out, invite him to meet your Scout (or Cub, or Beaver) group, or to turn in a guest appearance on a Scouting Stuff episode — please do get in touch. Today's topic is more of an opinion piece; Ken and Colin discuss the ways in which their worldviews have changed from having met Scouts from different countries. And though we don't ask it in the podcast proper, we would love to hear your stories about this topic as well: how has meeting Scouts from around the world changed your perspective? The upcoming JOTA-JOTI weekend is also discussed, albeit briefly. Shout-Outs This week, we've got a shout-out for Nancy Nobles, who wrote in: On my vacation last week we went to the Scout Shop in Windsor, Ontario. It was a great experience. I would never have done that if not for your show. We got lots of patches. Thank you for all you do. Keep it up.If you ever have questions on the American Cub Scout program, I would be happy to help. I have over 9 years experience. Our apologies, Nancy; we weren't able to get you on this episode. But we will be in touch soon; we'd love to discuss the differences in Cub Scouting that exist between the US and Canada. And as always, a big thank you to the folks at Scouting Radio for rebroadcasting Scouting Stuff episodes to their worldwide Scouting audience. If you're listening to us on Scouting Radio right now, let us know; reach out and get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
