Summary: The moment WTBS beamed its signal to satellite in 1979, the station became a powerhouse in the wrestling world. The longtime home of Georgia Championship Wrestling was now available to cable companies across the US and Canada. And just like that, the landscape of regional territories began to fracture. The familiar Saturday 6:05 p.m. time slot itself (along with accompanying times on Saturday morning and Sunday evening) was one that was hotly contested over its tenure, beginning almost as soon as the ink dried on the first contract structured in 1972.
