Episode 13: The NWA TV Title

The JJ Dillon Show show

Summary: This week JJ and Rich get into the history of the NWA TV title and some of the champions that held it. This is not an exhaustive history of each and every champion, but more of an historical look at what the TV title meant in the big scheme of things. When many fans think of the TV Title, they think of the WCW version that traces its lineage to the Mid-Atlantic TV Title. But the Georgia TV Championship was the one defended on TBS prior to 1985. The guys touch on some of the TV champions from both the Mid-Atlantic and Georgia territories, and discuss in detail one of the most-remembered TV Title rivalries from the Crockett era involving Dusty Rhodes vs. Tully Blanchard. (In full disclosure, Arn Anderson's reigns as NWA/WCW TV Champion will be discussed on an upcoming full-length "Enforcer" episode. ) JJ also shares stories of working with the man whom he calls the greatest manager of all time, Bobby the Brain Heenan. ---Get JJ's Autobiography "Wrestlers are Like Seagulls" at www.jjdillon.com ---Pick up a JJ Dillon Show T-Shirt at www.prowrestlingtees.com/jjdshow ---EMAIL the show - jjdillonshow@mlw.com ---TWITTER - @JJDillonShow @RichBocchini #AskJJD
