Rejoicing is not only the opposite of these vices, it is also the antidote.<br><br> When we’re on our guard, resentful, tight-fisted, angry, proud, our minds and hearts close up and harden. When we rejoice, our minds and hearts are open, receptive, and soft.<br> Of course, when we have closed ourselves off, we often cannot do the work of changing our heart.
