Summary: Subscribe on iTunes

For our seventh episode, we talked with Jeffrey Silverstein and Chris Muccioli of Singles Club, a really interesting 7" subscription series that impressed me both with their choice of artists and with their digital journal component, which you can actually check out for free, here. The club is limited to 250 members and for $65, you get the four 7" records, a box to house them in, a pin, a 45 converter and the digital download of both the music and journal.

The interactive nature of the stories, along with what I consider some damn talented writing, made me want to go after these guys for an interview. We chat about all the angles to Singles Club, including why they actually funded themselves as a publishing project and about how they selected this first batch of artists. On top of that, we also have a song from each of the four artists they're featuring in the series this year, with two of those songs actually being the A-side of the corresponding 7" record.

Stick around for some great music (very proud that we were able to feature all these artists) and my introduction where I talk about moving my record collection.

Timeline:
6:23, Beginning of interview with Jeffrey and Chris
24:07 — 27:50, Daniel Bachman — Coming Home
38:02 — 42:35, Small Sur — Wild Geese
57:33 — 1:01:20, Woodsman — In The End, Remember When
1:01:21 — Conclusion, Wisdom Tooth — Foul Fellow Fox

Music
Provided by Singles Club, Woodsman and Wisdom Tooth
Subscribe to Singles Club
Intro Music from "Here Comes The Night Time," by Arcade Fire/Merge Records

Want to sponsor an episode?
Our sponsorships are affordable to both big and small entities, whether you're a record label, vinyl retailer or just interested in vinyl records and what we have to say.
