The MV Podcast 020: Jesus Is Hanging In There

The Modern Vinyl Podcast show

Summary: So apparently my mic cable is toast. A couple weeks ago, during my recent move, I kinda destroyed the USB that goes into my Blue Yeti microphone. And that's why my end sounds like shit, so apologies to all including my co-hosts. It's not too bad but it certainly sounds like junk as I get louder (which is a lot). Anyways, this is our first crack at a "Feelings" episode, which is shorthand for an episode without any discernible structure or topics. We talk about how the podcast is progressing through 20 episodes, why some of the MV features are dying out and what our shortest relationships have been.

This is an episode for our regular listeners that don't mind us talking about random subjects for 90 minutes. I'm great at pitching episodes.

Notes:

I talk about how bringing on additional writers is a waste. And now we're hiring writers. This brain dump session is kinda what inspired that change.
Here's that VHS Shit Fest site I was talking about.

Timeline:
10:10, Chris takes a break to pay off his long term gambling debt
29:54, James reveals his "Rapcore" project Limp Trizkit
30:00, Mike reveals his lead role in True Detective season 2, one upping James
35:67, The team does the saltine cracker challenge (this part sounds pretty gross)
38:52, Reader Questions
40:12, James starts asking girls out on Skype in front of the "live" audience
44:56, We decide to change the site to Modern Cassette. Suck it.
52:34, We announce that we're pressing the Space Jam soundtrack to vinyl
4:01:45, We finish watching Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, doing live commentary on it the whole time

Where To Find Us
@getcerebral /@chrislantinen /@notmichaelpaul

Want to sponsor an episode?
Our sponsorships are affordable to both big and small entities, whether you’re a record label, vinyl retailer or just interested in vinyl records and what we have to say. You can contact us at advertising@modern-vinyl.com for more information. You receive a couple mentions, including a full pitch at the beginning of the episode.
