LCS Rundown - Episode 167: Rift Rivals

League Rundown - A League of Legends Esports Podcast show

Summary:
-SOUND CRIME ALERT-

The audio quality of this episode is not to the standard that Motgnarom sets for this show and has thusly been dubbed a Sound Crime. A great shame falls over Odenkil and his household for bringing this to your ears.

That being said it's time to party down on the TSM-baiting that they refused to do. The boys played well. We can hear in comms released from almost every game that shot calling was consistent and the team played well as a unit. Sven really managed to show up after a few weeks of not looking great, and I think that's a great step forward in his confidence / road to improvement. This was also the first international tournament in quite some time that a TSM could walk away and not feel too bad... and not just because we won. It's also about how we won. The typical TSM victory usually includes some heartbreak along the way and th UOL series ALMOST had that. Luckily our boy Sven was able to make it out with that sick Baron steal that turned the game on it's head.

So what does this mean for NA, EU and specifically TSM? A little bit. We've seen a lot of improvement out of P1 in general, and we can feel really good as a region about Mike Y. In regards to C9, I think we've come away with more questions - we'll need to see cleaner play out of the remaining weeks of Summer. TSM? We know they can play like we've always known they can play, but so rarely get to actually see. I want to see them do that against the LCK though. EU? Yikes. I really think they are falling behind due to their format. We've (and specifically me) have harped on this before, but it HAS to be said that playing less games of League does not maker a stronger league. Netiher does getting to AVOID half of the top end of your league, save one game that you get to play in the middle of your season. I see 0 reason to continue this format... I don't think it's fun to watch and I don't think it makes the teams better.

Anyway, listen to Oden and Blake work through Rift Rivals and next week's LCS play.

--

Subscribe to us on Patreon: http://patreon.com/tforcenetwork

Contact us: @lcsrundown on Twitter

Email: lcs@trinityforcepodcast.com
