Summary: The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Vanessa Grubbs. A professor at the University of California San Francisco department of medicine, Dr. Grubbs is a kidney specialist with a medical degree from Duke University. Not limited to being a medical doctor, black mother and wife, Dr. Grubbs moonlights as a creative non-fiction writer. Weeks ago, she visited Seattle, Washington to discuss her new book, Hundreds of Interlaced Fingers: A Kidney Doctor's Search for the Perfect Match. Grubbs describes the romance between she and her now-husband, Richard. He suffered from kidney failure when they first met, and witnessing his aguish with dialysis treatment and shabby care from White doctors helped the Grubbs better understand how racism decimates black patients. She's written about racism and organ transplants for years. However, when having out in Seattle, she confessed that she had "planned not to talk about racism." In fact, Grubbs called Gus "militant" for asking her to compare her work to the scholarship of Harriet A. Washington and Rebecca Skloot. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
