Summary: The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 2nd study session on Frantz Fanon's 1961 seminal work, The Wretched of the Earth. Born in Martinique in 1925, Fanon became globally recognized psychiatrist and devoted his 36 years of life to ending White rule. He fought for Algerian independence from French colonial tyranny and black liberation world wide. Fanon also penned Black Skin, White Mask, which is a psychoanalysis of the depravity and neurosis of sexual activity between Whites and black people. Interestingly, Fanon himself was married to a White woman. The writer and psychiatrist died from leukemia the same year The Wretched of the Earth was published. Last week's session explored the preface, written by Jean-Paul Sartre. A prominent White philosopher of the 1960's, Sartre's introduction shares buckets of words and, in between, a few slivers of truth about White power. Sartre acknowledges Racists often find solace watching black people hollar about about our oppression or seek solace in the ancient African traditions. Listeners speculated that Sartre encouraged Whites to read this text to refine their understanding of Black thought. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
