The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 01/05/17

The_C.O.W.S. show

Summary: The Context of White Supremacy hosts our weekly Thursday forum on Workplace Racism. This broadcast is uniquely constructed to increase our problem-solving abilities and to codify how black people think, speak, act and manage our emotions while at work. Any listeners who have deciphered the best techniques to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or the other typical problems we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to dial in and share details. We always welcome the experiences of Black "entrepreneurs;" please, report how being "self employed" changes your contact with Whites on the job. We'll hear counter-racist strategies from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages non-white people to keep a journal of your workplace experiences. Writing down your thoughts or observations is more reliable than memory, and the act of writing can help organize and clarify your thinking about events. We'll also request that non-white listeners share significant portions of policy and procedure from your current place of employment.
