Michael is the Fencing Chairman at New York Athletic Club and the Head Men and Women's Fencing Coach at Columbia University. Michael took over the Columbia Fencing program in 2011. Since then, he has turned them into a fencing powerhouse winning the 2015 NCAA Fencing National Championship. The first since 1993 for Columbia. As a result of his success, he has been featured in newspaper articles & spoken at various events. In this episode, Michael discusses his start in the sport of fencing, his "MoneyBlade" data-driven approach to recruitment for Columbia, and the importance of strength & conditioning for fencers.
