The reform of Duke energy

Greenpeace show

Summary: Greenpeace joined a coalition of environmental, civil rights and democracy reform groups that are calling upon Duke Energy to join the 38 other companies that have left the American Legislative Exchange Council. ALEC is a corporate bill mill that brings companies like Duke, Exxon, Koch Industries, Phillip Morris and other bad actors together with conservative state lawmakers in order to draft laws. Duke Energy in particular has deep ties to ALEC, sending it tens of thousands of dollars in support, helping ALEC oversee state operations in South Carolina and Indiana, and supporting the creation of ALEC2019s anti-environmental bills. While Duke claims to take climate and clean energy initiatives seriously, its work through ALEC undermines climate science and blocks clean energy.
