Summary: Dr. Kent Sills is a legendary band director of the "Famous Maroon Band" at Mississippi State University. He spent 30+ years of his life serving at MSU, and during that time his son Allen grew up in Starkville, graduated Valedictorian of Starkville High School, and went to engineering school at State. Following a degree from State, Dr. Allen Sills attended Johns Hopkins in Maryland, and is now a leader in the field of neurosurgery in the United States. In March, Dr. Allen Sills was named the chief medical officer of the NFL. Hear his story, in his own words on this week's Bully Pulpit.
