Summary: Dean Baquet is the executive editor of the New York Times. He is the first African-American to hold the position. In 1988 Baquet won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of City Council corruption in Chicago. During his nearly 40-year career, Baquet has worked for The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times.
