The immediate effect was a far better performance against Sunderland on Saturday and a much needed 3 points, but the game seemed almost secondary to the atmosphere in the ground which whilst not quite as toxic as some had feared certainly left the players and board in no doubt how the supporters felt about their part in Jose Mourinho’s downfall.
