Indiana Roots Part 1

Tea With Teachers Podcast / Conversation / Identity / Life Experiences show

Summary: On Episode 5 Part 1 of Tea With Teachers, I chat with Jennifer Sloop, a veteran educator who is currently working as a learning specialist in Washington, D.C.  We discuss a range of topics, focusing on the realities of choosing between motherhood and career and how that causes some internal friction with her feminist ideals. We share stories of our upbringing during the 80s and how her Indiana white working class roots has impacted her and her husband raising 2 daughters.  And as much as I try to avoid it, we talk about the recent election.  She contemplates how her Indiana roots intersects with race, privilege and politics...and cheerleading.
