FrontBurner is the parent company of the well-known brand, The Melting Pot which has national reach and is based here in Tampa Bay. FrontBurner is expanding in the area to include a consulting division which will work with other business owners on how to expand and / or franchise their existing models, something that Bob has done a tremendous job on. Starting out as a dishwasher with the company at age 14, Bob went on to purchase the company with his brothers and work his way up to the CEO. Today, the Melting Pot has hundreds of locations and is a fondue restaurant with table side entertainment and preparation that appeals to consumers of all types. He speaks of the acquisition of the company and how at just age 21, he was essentially clueless on running a business. They expanded slowly but growth was stunted in the late 80s and it was then that he and his brothers came together for a close, personal look at the business to find out why they were not growing. They concluded the problem lied within themselves and developed a set of what is now 12 principles on growth and development within the business. That resulted in strong growth and still guides the company to this day. The new design, inspired, by Millennials, was also a topic of discussion in this closing segment. Bob represents the pinnacle of entrepreneurship and is a class act, giving back to the community through their relationship with St. Jude’s Hospital of which he also discusses on the program.
