JB Shreve presents the End of History show

Summary: Reading Time: 2 minutesOxford Dictionaries has named “Post-Truth” as the 2016 word of the year. In this podcast episode I look at the ways we left the truth behind in 2016. This has been a long time coming though. It was not an overnight event. This podcast episode looks back to the culture wars of the 1990s as well as the moral philosophies of absolutes and relativism that helped us to get here. The age of Post-Truth is a dark place for society to be heading into and only those who find the truth will find true peace and freedom.

Post-truth goes way beyond fake news. We have boys and girls no longer able to comprehend their own gender, assigning it to a personal preference rather than biological fact . We have politicians who frame and reframe right and wrong according to their current interests. We have a media who has trained us to understand truth as merely the loudest voice being heard. There are consequences to living in the age of post-truth and they are not good.

Episode 147: Post-Truth
JB Shreve and the End of History

Here’s a link to the story I referenced in this podcast episode: Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year
You might also enjoy this previous post I wrote: The Real Story About Fake News.
