Summary: We heard on Christmas day we lost another major recording star, George Michael was found dead in bed at the age of 53. He appears to have died peacefully in his sleep. During his career spanning almost 35 years he made some of the biggest songs to hit the UK Top 40. This is a show I recorded a few years ago in celebration of his music. The immortal “Last Christmas” became one of the greatest ever Christmas Songs. “Careless Whisper” (credited in some places as with Wham!” was written by George and Wham! Partner Andrew Ridgely but was his first foray into solo work. Three years later came the “Faith” album, one of the best recordings in UK history of the 80s.
