Summary: It’s the Chinese Lunar New Year and Stephen invited his new guest co-hosts Shinji and Andrew, who are both of Asian heritage, to talk about the many issues facing gay Asian men - both Canadian and immigrant- in British Columbia today. The discussions are provocative and thought provoking. Join us on March 21st for the first part of this four part series: Segment 1: Born and Raised with Diversity While both Stephen’s guest hosts are of Asian heritage, raised Catholic, and in their 20s; both men have very different cultural backgrounds. Andrew was born and raised in British Columbia with a long pre-Confederation Canadian family ancestry. Shinji is a recent Canadian immigrant from the Phillipines. They discuss issues of culture, race, and sexual orientation while growing up and as young men. Later Shinji compares gay life in Manila with Vancouver and Andrew talks of how he broadened his West Coast perspective in Montreal.
