Summary: Ah, yes back to the days when they killed off ole Den Watts in Eastenders [well, the first time anyway]. And everything else happening around the UK is too depressing to even contemplate telling you. SO onto the happier climate of the music. March the 4th 1989 Michael Jackson was at battle with Simple Minds of all creatures for the top spot.Paula Abdul has her first UK top 40 hit, as do Texas and Sam Brown among some others. There’s new entries from The Reynolds girls attacking the oldies of the music scene [bad move girls]. We hear some classic Deacon Blue, Posion, Depeche Mode, Donna Summer, Holly Johnson and Def Leppard. There’s a foray into the top ten albums which is all good.
