Summary: The apostles encountered much persecution as they spread the gospel, especially from jealous Jews. Yet, immediately following the persecution they encounter in Acts 13, we read, “The disciples were filled with joy in the Holy Spirit” (Acts 13:52). How can we have joy even when life is at its worst?
