Back2Us Show _ Mental Health Month with guest Erica Neal of Chris Kids

Dr Annise Mabry show

Summary: October 23, 2012 started out like a normal Tuesday morning for us.  Both of my children went to school but by Tuesday afternoon, only one child would come home and our life as we knew it would be forever changed.  That Tuesday afternoon started what I call our "freefall" into the adolescent mental health care system in Georgia.  The best day and the worst day of my life was when my daughter was finally diagnosed with a mental illness.  In today's show, I am going to go back to those emotions that I felt on that Tuesday afternoon and those 10 days that followed. I will talk about the critical role that the Rockdale NAMI group in my healing and we will also be joined on air with Erica Neal, Program Manager for Chris Kids "The Spot" Clubhouse.  These two community resources were critical to helping our family re-establish our life post diagnosis.   We will also feature Scott Burkholder's track today "Song for A Sister".  You can find more tracks by Scott on Soundcloud:  http://soundcloud.com/scottb55 Here is the link to the amazing studio that had a salt therapy room: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Salt-Of-The-Earth-Massage-Wellness-Studio/1443476869205437 Here is how I found my local National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Parent/Caregiver Support Group: http://www.nami.org/MSTemplate.cfm?Section=GAGroups1&Site=NAMIGeorgia&..
